The cover rubber is the protective layer of the conveyor belt, and the protection belt core is not affected by the impact, abrasion and corrosion of the material during operation. The side in contact with the material is called the upper cover rubber, which is the working surface of the conveyor belt; the other side is called the lower cover rubber, which is the non-working surface. Usually, the cover rubber is thicker than the cover rubber. In addition to abrasion resistance, impact resistance and tear resistance, the cover rubber also requires acid resistance, alkali resistance, heat resistance, cold resistance, flame resistance, antistatic, etc. according to the nature of the material. The cover rubber is generally smooth and sometimes adapted to high inclination. For the needs of the conveyor, various patterns are produced on the surface of the cover rubber.
The edge glue refers to the rubber edge strips on both sides of the conveyor belt to enhance the wear resistance of the edge and prevent the early damage of the belt body caused by the broken edge.
