Rubber conveyor belt is affected by environmental temperature, transmission system, splash foreign body, lubricant, bending of synchronous belt, installation tension and other factors. The survice life will be influenced by it. For modern engines, compact engine compartments, high compression ratio, turbocharging of some models, etc., will increase the temperature in the engine compartment and make the working environment of the transmission belt quite bad. Experiments show that the service life of transmission belt decreases sharply with the increase of ambient temperature. In the hot summer, when you ignore the pointer of the thermometer, it is not only harming your engine, but also speeding up the service life of your drive belt.
The transmission belt has a high requirement for the transmission system, and the coaxiality
and homotopy of the parts on the same transmission plane directly affect the service life of the transmission belt. In the whole transmission plane, only the transmission belt belongs to rubber parts. The interference between the belt and the part caused by abnormal parts will seriously damage the transmission belt. After a long time running of the transmission end face, the coaxiality or the coaxiality of the original end face parts may be destroyed due to wear and tear. Because of the complexity of vehicle driving conditions, it is very likely that foreign bodies will splash into synchronous belt or synchronous pulley in the harsh external driving environment. Foreign bodies in the high-speed running state, just like a knife cutting belt continuously, will quickly lead to the damage of transmission belt. After driving in harsh environment, check the transmission system whether foreign body splashes in time!
Likewise, lubricating grease accelerates the aging process of rubber. Therefore, when disassembling and installing the transmission belt, if you have grease on your hand, please wipe it clean and operate again! Keep in mind that don't put the drive belt in the oil. If your belt is accidentally greasy, please use it carefully or it should be replaced immediately. Cord is also an important part of belt, which will cause the attenuation of belt tension under small bending radius. Especially time-gauge belt: because its cord is made of glass fibre, which is relatively fragile, will cause serious attenuation of belt tension even under a very small bending radius. Therefore, excessive bending of time gauge belts is prohibited. If the belt is under a small bending radius, it should be wrapped on the rod to avoid the sharp angle of the belt bending. For accessory belts, they are driven by friction between the two sides of the belt and the pulley. Therefore, the installation tension will directly affect the use of the transmission belt: if the tension is too small, it will cause the belt to slip, which not only aggravates the wear on both sides of the belt, but also accelerates the aging process of the belt.
